Blogging Homework 1 [Analysis of title sequences]

Bicentennial Man (1999)

  • Starts off with the production and distribution companies.
  • Introduces the main character (Robin Williams) as the Bicentennial Man.
  • Then introduces the names of the cast and crew.
  • Bold sci-fi typography used.
  • A lot of different scenes showing technology.
  • Transitions of the type is in sync with the imagery in the background. For example, the type will rotate if something in the background rotates.
  • Music starts of as mysterious but gets more intense towards the middle then slows down again. The same happens with the background at the same time as the music.
  • All the imagery is linked with the film. The creation of the Bicentennial Man.

Too Many Cooks(2014)

  • Introduces the characters of the film.
  • Joyful and catchy theme song throughout the film.
  • The type stating the actors/actresses name follows theme where ever the go.
  • Turns from joyful to action cartoon to murderous to sci-fi.
  • Theme songs runs throughout the entire title sequence.
