Blogging homework 1 (analysis of title sequences)

HULK

• it starts off wit the production company and as we usually see with marvel films we see the comic strip associated with marvel. As it goes through the title sequence we the names of people involved wit production in conduction with the stages in the main character doing several experiments
• the typography used in the film is a custom font used to recall the movies comic book origins.
• the font is on different levels through out the title sequence.
• in the title sequence we are introduced to the main character of the film as well as a key setting for the film, also through out the duration of the title sequence we see the main character try to create the serum which will eventually turn him into the hulk.
• Music is added to accompany the clip to build tension.
• i picked this title sequence because its an iconic marvel comic book and iconic marvel movie.
• Creative director Garson Yu:I was picked by Ang to develop the visual look for the film. At the beginning, the project was not about the opening title sequence; Ang wanted to create a unique look for the film. He wanted me to develop a new visual language incorporating multiple cameras to tell a story.

THE AVENGERS

• We see the people involved with production(e.g director , producer , executive producer ect ect ) , after that we see the main cast in conjunction with main items that identify which character they portrayed, for example when it shows thors hammer we see Chris Hemsworth, then towards the end we see the production company , in this case marvel.
• the people who were involved with production of the title sequence stated that the typography used in the title sequence was not to be very flashy. Therefore we see that the typography isn't very big and isn't a very flashy colour.
• The font is typically in the middle of the frame though out the whole title sequence.
• Behind the font we see the key items that are related to each character giving insight as to who is in the avengers and the sound used is the soundtrack associated with the film.
• i picked this title sequence because the avengers was one of the biggest films if not the biggest of 2012, also the making of the title sequence is very good.
• The creative mind behind the title sequence who involved Steve Viola, said that the objective with the title sequence was to "We were striving not to just make this a visual effects sequence, but to engage and capture the audience even after the film."
